The town of Rachana, south of Tripoli, is a "Museum Village" that comes to life with modern sculpture made of wood, stone, granite, or metal. Last, Batroun is a coastal town and fishing village with ancient remains from the Hellenistic and Roman eras (e.g., a rock-cut theatre and quarry), when it was known as "Botrys."
